Course number : CED1171

« back to classes page
All experience levels are welcome in this creative ceramics class. You will learn and develop your handbuilding skills with techniques such as slabs, coils, and molds (including balloons, slump, and hump forms). Using porcelain clay, you’ll create functional pieces like mugs and bowls, as well as more expressive sculptural work. The class will also cover glaze application and the use of colored slips.

Class sessions meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and students are encouraged to attend optional, instructor-supervised open studio hours on Saturdays. All supplies and equipment are provided. To ensure there is enough for everyone and to reduce waste, materials will be shared in set amounts.
