The nursing assistant program at WVC provides the basics in caregiving skills for entry-level employment in healthcare: Instruction of personal care skillsRoles and responsibilities of nursing assistantsCommunication skillsSafety and emergency proceduresCPR and first aid training for healthcare providersUpon successful completion and evaluation by nursing faculty, students are eligible to take the certification examination for nursing assistants. This course, or its equivalent, is a prerequisite for the Wenatchee Valley College Nursing Program. Attendance is mandatory for all course elements.
