The nursing assistant program at WVC provides the basics in caregiving skills for entry-level employment in healthcare:
  • Instruction of personal care skills
  • Roles and responsibilities of nursing assistants
  • Communication skills
  • Safety and emergency procedures
  • CPR and first aid training for healthcare providers
Upon successful completion and evaluation by nursing faculty, students are eligible to take the certification examination for nursing assistants. This course, or its equivalent, is a prerequisite for the Wenatchee Valley College Nursing Program. Attendance is mandatory for all course elements.

*Important note: The Nursing Assistant Skills Exam is now incorporated into the class. The Washington State Board of Nursing mandated $100 exam fee is included in the course fee. After a candidate passes the Skills Exam, they are eligible to sit for the Written Exam administered by Credentia (separate exam fee paid directly to Credentia). The Skills Exam is the last day of the class schedule.
