The nursing assistant program at WVC provides the basics in caregiving skills for entry-level employment in healthcare:
  • Instruction of personal care skills
  • Roles and responsibilities of nursing assistants
  • Communication skills
  • Safety and emergency procedures
  • Healthcare Provider CPR and first aid training for healthcare providers
The Washington State Board of Nursing Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) skills exam is included within this course. Passing the skills exam is required to pass the course. Students have a total of four attempts to pass the NAC skills exam (arrangements will be made for exam re-takes). This course, or its equivalent, is a prerequisite for the Wenatchee Valley College Nursing Program. Attendance is mandatory for all course elements.
