HR Generalist

As an HR Generalist you are expected to be an expert in every human resource function including hiring, compensation, payroll, performance management, employment laws (FMLA, ADA, COBRA, etc.) and much more. Through lecture, discussion and activities, this program will help prepare you to effectively serve in an HR Generalist role. Additionally, you will be equipped with tools to assist you as you encounter situations in today's workplace. 

Earn the certificate by taking the courses individually or register for the series and save.

Series includes (36 hours):

  • Introduction to HR - 3 hours
  • Federal and State Employment Laws - 6 hours
  • Recruitment and Selection - 6 hours
  • Compensation and Benefits - 6 hours
  • Employee and Labor Relations- 6 hours
  • Training and Development- 3 hours
  • Health, Safety and Security- 3 hours
  • HR Administration- 3 hours

Program Completion

To receive the HR Generalist Certificate, you must attend 80 percent of the entire certificate program (calculated by total number of sessions). 

Project Management

The Project Management Certificate consists of seven required courses totaling 108 hours of course work. The courses are divided into two parts: A & B. Part A contains three classes, and is offered fall quarter. Part B contains the remaining four courses, and is offered winter quarter.

You may register for the courses individually, or you can save money by registering for a series of courses.


PART A Courses (fall):

  1. Project Management Basics: Initiating the Project  (15 hours)
  2. Project Planning and Scheduling Essentials  (21 hours)
  3. Project Execution to Closing  (15 hours)

*Course 6, Microsoft Project 2019, requires good working knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel and access to a computer or laptop with good internet connection. You will not be able to work in the MS Project application via a smartphone or tablet.

 

Program Completion

To earn the Project Management Certificate of Completion, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Take all seven required courses
  • Attend 80 percent of each course (based on number of sessions in each course), except the Capstone course, where 100% attendance is required. Please note: Saturday courses lasting longer than four hours will count as two sessions.
  • Participate in class


These courses count toward the education requirements for the Project Management Professional (PMP)® and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certifications*

*While the courses provide a solid foundation of knowledge for the Project Management Institute (PMI) PMP® and CAPM® Certification exams, they are not focused on exam preparation. To prepare for the exams, it is highly recommend to also complete a PMP® Exam Prep course.

Data Analyst

The analyst role collects, cleans, and analyzes data to produce accurate insights and reports. Responsibilities include building dashboards, validating data quality, documenting methods, and presenting findings that support decision making and continuous improvement.
