If you love reading short stories and want to write them, this class is for you. We'll examine jaw-dropping short stories and what makes them tick. We'll try writing our own short fictional stories, learning idea-generation techniques, experimental story formats, and revision tips to make your stories gleam. Then, we'll learn how to get published. Students will leave this class with at least three new short story ideas, a cover letter for submitting stories to publishers, and a critique of a story up to 5,000 words from instructor/author G.G. Silverman. Please have a notebook and pen OR a laptop/tablet with writing software.
