The CNA FastTrack course prepares students for entry-level employment in healthcare by teaching essential caregiving skills. Topics include personal care, the roles and responsibilities of nursing assistants, communication techniques, and safety and emergency procedures. Basic Life Support (BLS) and first aid training are included.

Students who successfully complete the coursework and meet instructor evaluation requirements will take the Washington State nursing assistant skills exam on the final day of class (first attempt included in the course). Passing the skills exam is required to pass the course. After successfully completing the course, students become eligible to take the written certification exam (scheduled separately).

This course (or an equivalent) is a prerequisite for the WVC nursing program.

Training includes both classroom/lab instruction and hands-on clinical experience at a local long-term care facility.
